One of the most common sights in our forests are the many birds that call this place home. From the elusive woodpeckers and majestic blue jays, to the flocks of wild turkeys that roam the fields, there is always something to see and admire. And if you're lucky, you might even spot a rare and beautiful bird like the Baltimore Oriole or the Rose-breasted Grosbeak.

The best time to see our foxes and deer is at dawn, when they come out to forage for food in the back fields. These elusive creatures are shy and timid, but with a little patience and a keen eye, you might just catch a glimpse of them as they move through the forest. And during the night, you may spot bats, which are great for controlling mosquitoes, as well as the occasional owl.

One of the highlights of our forest is the beautiful stream that runs through it, and here you may spot frogs and other aquatic creatures. The bullfrog, also called "monstrous frog", is one of the most noisy and surprising animals of the forest due to its small size as compared to its vocal cords.  Hearing one is quite common in Quebec summer.   And if you're lucky, you might even spot one of the tiniest and protected frogs in the area, the Western Chorus frog.

To attract these animals, you can try leaving out small amounts of food, such as seeds or fruit, in a safe and appropriate place. And to watch them, it is best to approach quietly and with patience, using binoculars or a telephoto lens to get a closer look.
